Ventilation Systems
Aliases: Local Exhaust Ventilation System (LEV)A local exhaust ventilation system is designed to catch the dust at or near the source before it reaches the air the worker breathes. The system typically includes a shroud, a hose and a vacuum. The dust is filtered by the LEV system and clean air is released.
As silica dust can be abrasive, LEV equipment must be regularly inspected for damage and properly maintained.
