Silica Safety Instruction & Training
Silica Safety Instruction & Training is the structured and documented preparation of workers in how to safely work within environments where RCS dust is a risk.
As stated in the HSRC, an employer must ensure that a worker who is or may be exposed to RCS dust receives adequate instruction and training in the following:
- (a) the hazards and health effects of inhaling RCS dust;
- (b) safe work practices and procedures;
- (c) the correct operation and use of any required equipment and engineering controls;
- (d) the purpose and limitations of personal protection equipment, and the correct selection, fitting, use, care, and maintenance of that equipment;
- (e) housekeeping practices.
